This week’s songs in the Dragonfly Class
My Dog Rags

I’ve got a dog and his name is Rags
He eats so much that his tummy sags
His ears flip, flop & his tail wig wags
And when he walks, he goes zig zag.
He goes flip flop, wig wag, zig zag.
He goes flip flop, wig wag, zig zag.
He goes flip flop, wig wag, zig zag.
I love Rags, and he loves me.
My dog Rags, he loves to play
He rolls around in the mud all day
I call him (whistle), he doesn't obey
He always runs the other way.
He goes flip flop, wig wag, zig zag.
He goes flip flop, wig wag, zig zag.
He goes flip flop, wig wag, zig zag.
I love Rags, and he loves me.

Just a note

I hope everyone has had lots of fun in the snow over the weekend! There is a potential for a closure on Monday also, so be aware of the possibility. An email will be sent and a remind 101 will go out as soon as I hear any news. We generally go with what the Vancouver schools decide to do when it comes to inclement weather. If they are 2 hours delayed, we will not have Monday AM class.

Valentines Party

Our Valentine’s Parties will be on Monday & Tuesday in the morning classes and Thursday in the afternoon class. We decided to make individual pizzas on these days and exchanging Valentines. This is great practice for your child to practice writing their names on the back of their valentines. I don’t want this to be a chore or push the children that aren’t ready to write the other children’s names so there is no need to write names on the front.

Goodnight Moon
Wednesday is the field trip to “Goodnight Moon”. There will be no class on this day; we will meet at the theater at least 20 mins before the show begins. The morning performance begins at 9:45 so please plan on being at the Theater by 9:15 and the afternoon performance begins at 12:00 so please be there by 11:30 because parking can be tricky. It might be a good idea to carpool with another family to help with the parking situation.

This week in the Dragonfly Class

This week in the Dragonfly Class we will be celebrating friendship this week with our Valentine's Parties and be entertained by the Northwest Children's Theater on Wednesday.

Quote of the week:

After doing some work at the table one girl in the afternoon class looks at me and says “Ok, am I done here?” and I reply with a “Yes we are all done”. She then says “Good! I have to go poison some people! Haha! “
She was dressed as Cinderella so I took some relief in that! :)

Just a note

This week I will be putting out a sign in sheet for the children to start signing themselves in everyday. It’s the time of year that we really want to focus on writing our name in order and in a smaller space so this is great practice for them.

Registration for 2014-2015 is this Wednesday for In-House Registration beginning at 9:15 in JLH and Open Registration will be held on Feb 7th.

Portfolios
We are really starting to discuss doing our best work and are starting a BEST WORKS file for their work, which will be going into their portfolios. We will be keeping more of their work to go in their portfolios, so you may not see as much go home but it will all together at the end of the year.

Valentines Party
Our Valentine’s Parties will be on Monday & Tuesday next week. As a class we will decide what kind of treats we would like for our parties and I will post a signup sheet after we vote on it. We will be exchanging Valentines. This is great practice for your child to practice writing their names on the back of their valentines. I don’t want this to be a chore or push the children that aren’t ready to write the other children’s names so there is no need to write names on the front.

This week in the Dragonfly Class
This week in the Dragonfly Class we will be discussing what it means to be a friend. How we can be a good friend and how we show people we care about them. We will be participating in friendship activities all week! Friendship painting, friendship poems, and freeze dance with a friendship twist! We will also be painting our cans for our valentines. 
