Just a note

This week we will have a friendly fire fighter visit on January 27th and 28th. Scott, a dad in the Rainbow room, will be here with all of his gear to talk to classes. This will be a great time to practice being a good audience and learn about fire safety.

Good Night Moon
Our field trip to the performance of Good Night Moon is coming up fast and we will be collecting money for it this week. The cost is $5 per person and due by this Friday January 31st.

Koda the Bear
This week our friendly class bear will begin going home with students. I will attach a list of when you will have your turn with Koda. The bear comes with a journal which we will start in class and then you can document your week with the bear. After each child has had a turn we will keep the journals in our classroom until the end of the year when each child’s pages will go in their portfolios. Make the pages as creative as you like just try a take some pictures with the bear doing normal everyday things with you or fun exciting things too! The more excited you are about this time the more your child will be as well.

Silent Auction - The morning Class basket
It is time to prepare for Little Acorn's annual Auction and Dinner. The Dragonfly Class is putting together a Tour of Maryhill Winery (located in Goldendale, Wa) basket to auction off. We currently have a donation to tour the vineyard and two bottles of Maryhill wine.

To complete the basket we would like to ask every parent to donate $15 towards it so that we can buy a few items (a nice pair of wine glasses, a gas card, etc.) We understand that not everyone may be in a position to make a full donation but any amount you can offer will certainly help! All donations must be turned into Teacher Denise by January 31st so that we will have enough time to purchase the goods and put the basket together.

If you would like a receipt please let me know.

Portfolios
We will begin really focusing on doing our best work to put in our portfolios and starting an alphabet book that will go in their books. So you might want to talk about doing your best work.

Make New Friends

Make new friends,
But keep the old.
One is silver,
And the other, gold.
A circle's round
It has no end
That's how long
I'm gonna be your friend.
