Just a Note

We had a delay in getting to know our Bears last week so we will be busy doing that this week. We will go ahead and draw names for which order they will be going home with you.

Winter Weather
We go outside whenever it’s not raining so please remember to send a jacket, hat and gloves or mittens for your child.

Classroom Bears
We will have classroom bears that will be going home with the children. During this week the bears will be hanging out in our class and starting next week the bears will go home with the children for one week at a time. We will draw names and go in that order. The bear comes with a journal which we will start in class and then you can document your week with the bear. At the end of the year these journal pages will be placed in their portfolio.

Portfolios
We will begin really focusing on doing our best work to put in our portfolios and starting an alphabet book that will go in their books. So you might want to talk about doing your best work.

This week in the Dragonfly Class
This week in the Dragonfly Class we are reading What Snowmen do at night series. We will create some snowmen and stories to go along with them. We will end the week with a “snow ball fight”. We will be freezing some objects from our classroom and then exploring how they melt with salt and water.

Word Wall
The letter of the week for the next week will be Dd. Please remember that we only share items that start with the letter of week. This is a great way to talk with your child about beginning sounds and finding letters in your environment.

I’m a little Snowman

I’m a little snowman,
Short and fat.
Here is my scarf.
Here is my hat.
When the sun comes out.
I’ve got to go!
But I’ll be back
The next time it snows.
