Just a reminder that there is no school on Tuesday in observance of Veteran’s Day.

Colder Weather

As we move into colder weather I want to remind you to send your child with a jacket and mittens & hat (if needed) as we go outside most days as long as its not too wet or raining.

Also we may encounter some school closure because of weather conditions so be prepared for this during the next few months.  If Vancouver School District Closes for Weather Conditions then we will be closed as well.  We will still have afternoon classes if there is a two hour late start.

LAPSK Board-Parent Meet & Greet

The LAPSK Board will hold a Meet & Greet on Thursday November 13, 9:00-10:00 in the Conrad Room. 

Parents can come voice their thoughts and ideas in a constructive, respectful and supportive way.  We will have a 2nd Meet& Greet in January in the evening for those that cannot attend November’s meeting.

Remind.com is an alert notification text system.  You can subscribe to Little Acorn’s Notification by texting the class code lapsk20 to 307-459-3175.  This is a school wide text notification for school wide information such as School Weather Closure.

Canned Food Drive

We are starting our church-partnered winter canned food drive.  Please update your weekly newsletters and put a box out for canned food.  The church will make baskets on 11/20, however we will accept donations through December to help those in need. 

Family Fun Night

We invite to our Holiday Family Fun Night on Friday November 21^st  from 5:30-7:00.  We will have a variety of make and take holiday crafts to create with your children, cookie decorating and a photo booth.

Fred Meyer Rewards

Families can add Little Acorn to their rewards cards by going online at www.fredmeyer.com/communityrewards

Fred Meyer will donate a percentage of purchases to the school. For 2014 we have received a total of $112.24!

Our bake sale will be November 24th & 25th

Santa Breakfast tickets will also be on sale during the bake sale

Santa Breakfast
Back by popular demand!!  I am pleased to announce that we will have Santa Breakfast on 12/6, 9-11.  Santa will give a gift to each child who attends.  Breakfast will be $3.00 for kids and $5.00 for adults.  We will need help making and serving breakfast, set up and clean up.  This is a great chance for parents to get some volunteer time!! Tickets will be on sale: 11/17-12/4.

Winter Concerts
Mark your calendars for our Winter Concerts. The Dragonfly Class will perform on Tuesday December 9^th at 6:00 pm.  The children need to be in our class by 5:45.  Prepare to be entertained! J

This week in the Dragonfly Class
This week in the Dragonfly Class we will be talking about the colors of fall and the changing seasons. We will investigate the trees outside and sketch them. We will go on a Fall I Spy Walk, collect leaves and create some leaf art.

Word Wall
We will be talking about the letter Ff this week.  Please help your child find things that start with the beginning sound of the letter of the week.  This is a great opportunity for you to talk about letters and sounds with your child.
