November 18th, 2013
Just a note…
We will be talking about being thankful this week and I just want to say how thankful I am for all of you!! We are truly blessed with amazing families here at Little Acorn. Thank you all so much for reaching out to the Wade Family in there time of need.

November Family Night
Please join us this Friday for Family Fun as we host a holiday “make and take” craft night. It is this Friday, November 22nd from 5:30-7:00. This free event will include ornament making, reindeer food, and cookie decorating plus a photo booth. The whole family is welcome to come get a jump on the holidays and spend some quality time together creating crafts.

Dragonfly Friendsgiving
For our Thanksgiving celebration we will be making and sharing fruit salad. There will be a signup sheet out this week for fruit for the children to bring and then we will make it for our snack on Monday & Tuesday November 25th & 26th.

Food Drive
The annual Canned Food Drive will begin this week and run through December 13th. All food collected will go in Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets.

Bake Sale
We are hosting our annual “Bake sale” on Mon/Tues Nov.25 & 26 during school hours. We will be taking baked donations to sell both days. If you aren’t a baker, then you can come and buy some goodies for your family Thanksgiving celebration! Either way, Thanks in advance for supporting our school.

Winter Concerts
Mark your Calendars for the evening of December 11th at 6:00pm as we present our winter concert to families. The Dragonfly Class will be joining with the Busy Bee and Sunshine classes on this night. We’ll be singing winter/holiday songs for your enjoyment and then afterward the scholastic book fair will be open for book buying. This is a fun night so be sure and plan to come!

Santa Breakfast
Little Acorn’s annual Santa Breakfast will be on Saturday December 7th. Tickets for that event will go on sale this week.

This week in the Dragonfly Class
This week in the Dragonfly Class we will continue talking about our families and homes but we will also be talking about Thanksgiving and what that means to us. What does being thankful mean and what are we thankful for? We will also be doing some traditional holiday crafts. We will be reading The Ugly Pumpkin, T is for Turkey and A Family Thanksgiving.
